The Oscar Romero Award

Putting faith into action: how our schools bring Catholic Social Teaching to life every day.

Putting Faith into Action

Our schools are proud to work towards the Oscar Romero Award, a national scheme that recognises how we bring our faith to life every single day.

Named after St. Oscar Romero—a modern-day hero who stood up for the vulnerable and championed justice—this award helps us weave the core principles of Catholic Social Teaching into the heart of our school community.

Faith in Action

What It Means for Our Students

We want our children and young people to realise that they can be agents of positive change. The award encourages them to put their faith into action by focusing on real-world values:

Human Dignity

Recognising that every person is unique, valuable, and deserving of respect.

Solidarity and the Common Good

Standing side-by-side with those in need, supporting local and global charities, and caring for one another.

Care for Creation

Taking responsibility as stewards of the earth to protect our environment for future generations.

How the Award Works

The award provides a structured roadmap for our schools, moving through three progressive stages (Participator, Developer, and Innovator). It celebrates the charity work, community outreach, and daily acts of kindness our students already take part in, while challenging us to keep growing.

Stage 1

Participator

Stage 2

Developer

Stage 3

Innovator

By working toward this award, we ensure our schools remain vibrant communities where children learn not only to excel academically, but to grow into compassionate, globally responsible citizens.
